A Tribute to Norma West OBE

Norma West was a Charter member of the Rockhampton Club when it was chartered in 1983.

Sadly, Norma passed away on 4th July this year. She will be greatly missed by all.

Outside of her distinguished nursing career, Norma was very committed to Zonta International as a member of the Zonta Club of Rockhampton. Norma was dedicated to Zonta’s vision of improving women’s lives, their children’s lives and the communities in which they live and work. Her membership of Zonta spanned 35 years . Below is a tribute which was presented at her funeral at St Luke’s Anglican Church in Rockhampton on 9th July.

District 22 CONFERENCE 2023 -Update

The District 22 Conference 2023 is successfully concluded. From the warm welcome to Mackay by Mayor Williamson and Aunty Pat Corrie to the final business closure on Sunday 10 September, delegates and guests enjoyed the guest speakers, the several presentations by our education award winners, our Zonta International Representative Annika from Sweden and the Zonta spirit generated by many Zontians being and working together for the future of District 22. Congratulations to the newly elected Board Members and Nominating Committee, as well as to the many first-time Conference delegates who participated in the business sessions. Thanks also to the Zontians of Mackay who hosted the event and to the Organising Committee for their months of planning to deliver a happy and productive District Conference. The District Conference 2025 will be held in Mount Isa. In the meantime the 2024 Zonta International Convention in Brisbane will be the next major event to which we look forward.
