Our theme is building a better world for women and girls
Our vision is a world in which women’s rights are recognized as human rights, where women are represented in decision making positions on an equal basis with men.
Take a leisurely stroll through the well-maintained gardens, and afterwards indulge in a variety of scrumptious cakes, enjoy a cup of freshly brewed tea or coffee, and immerse yourself in the serenity of the surroundings. ...
Zonta International is a leading global organization of professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy.
Originally included in District 16 (now located in New Zealand), Australia has been part of Zonta International since 1966 and has grown to be home now to three Zonta International Districts. Together they incorporate Zonta Clubs in all Australian States and Territories.
Membership of Zonta is an opportunity to make a difference to the lives of women and girls around the world and in our own community.
Founded in Buffalo, New York, in 1919, its early members were among the first generation of college-educated women, the first generation of North American women to vote, and a part of the growing, though still comparatively small, legion of women entering the workforce.
Today, Zonta International has over 27,000 members in 1163 Clubs in 63 countries, and has General Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Consultative Status with UNESCO, UNICEF, UN Women, ILO, Council of Europe and the International Centre for Social Development and Humanitarian Affairs.
Our vision is a world in which women’s rights are recognized as human rights and every woman is able to achieve her full potential. In such a world, women have access to all resources and are represented in decision making positions on an equal basis with men. In such a world, no woman lives in fear of violence.
