New Members

At our April Meeting we welcomed into our Club Dr Bianca Capra. Bianca had attended a number of our meetings and already had a good knowledge of the work of Zonta as she is a two times winner of the Amelia Earhart Fellowship which was awarded to her whilst undertaking her PhD at the University of Queensland.

Our May Meeting saw Megan Oliver inducted into our Club. Megan, an Optometrist, also had attended a number of meetings before submitting her application for membership.

We welcome both to our Club and look forward to hearing of their ideas and working with us to advance the mission of Zonta.

What's On

District 22 CONFERENCE 2023 -Update

The District 22 Conference 2023 is successfully concluded. From the warm welcome to Mackay by Mayor Williamson and Aunty Pat Corrie to the final business closure on Sunday 10 September, delegates and guests enjoyed the guest speakers, the several presentations by our education award winners, our Zonta International Representative Annika from Sweden and the Zonta spirit generated by many Zontians being and working together for the future of District 22. Congratulations to the newly elected Board Members and Nominating Committee, as well as to the many first-time Conference delegates who participated in the business sessions. Thanks also to the Zontians of Mackay who hosted the event and to the Organising Committee for their months of planning to deliver a happy and productive District Conference. The District Conference 2025 will be held in Mount Isa. In the meantime the 2024 Zonta International Convention in Brisbane will be the next major event to which we look forward.
