Great Monthly Meeting
Had a very enjoyable Club meeting last night. Guest speakers were Natalie from NAPCAN who told us of the very successful training that was delivered in the last month or so and the success of the LoveBites program in the schools and how well it is received by the students teaching them respect, how to say NO and that violence is not OK. Our other speakers were Greg Beard and Maggie Hsieh from the Mater Foundation who spoke of the history, growth, research and services provided by the Mater Hospital and presented the Club with a cheque to assist with our Zonta Breast Cushion project – we supply approximately 750 breast cushions and drainage bags to the Mater each year to give to women who have had breast surgery.
We also recognised the work of our previous Club Treasurer Loris with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Commonwealth Bank and thanked her for the beautiful bags she has made and donated to be given to the women in the Refuge that is supported by the Club
