Day of Fellowship in Ipswich

Many thanks to Jacinta and Sarah for organizing a very pleasant fellowship day – an outing to Ipswich. Members enjoyed browsing around the Ipswich Antique Centre before hearing from our member Heather on the history of this Heritage Listed building and its transformation from an old Congregational Church Sunday School Hall built in 1895 to its current glory as the Ipswich Antique Centre. We then moved to lunch at The Park Café in Queens Park to further plan for our upcoming Trivia and Tea fundraiser (see later) before enjoying a leisurely stroll through the Japanese Garden in the park – the Nerima Gardens. A great day enjoyed in beautiful Spring sunshine

District 22 CONFERENCE 2023 -Update

The District 22 Conference 2023 is successfully concluded. From the warm welcome to Mackay by Mayor Williamson and Aunty Pat Corrie to the final business closure on Sunday 10 September, delegates and guests enjoyed the guest speakers, the several presentations by our education award winners, our Zonta International Representative Annika from Sweden and the Zonta spirit generated by many Zontians being and working together for the future of District 22. Congratulations to the newly elected Board Members and Nominating Committee, as well as to the many first-time Conference delegates who participated in the business sessions. Thanks also to the Zontians of Mackay who hosted the event and to the Organising Committee for their months of planning to deliver a happy and productive District Conference. The District Conference 2025 will be held in Mount Isa. In the meantime the 2024 Zonta International Convention in Brisbane will be the next major event to which we look forward.
