District 22 CONFERENCE 2025

Mt Isa club are delighted to be the hosts of District 22 conference 12-14 September 2025. They are already well advanced in planning and the venue will be confirmed soon. There will be an amazing social program incorporating the best of Mt Isa attractions – the Isa Amphitheatre with mine tours, the historic Underground hospital and Tent House and a visit to the Uranium mine are all on the program.  We hope the memorial service will be especially poignant at the Miner’s church which commemorates the towns history.

A range of accommodation options are available with special rates being negotiated including caravan parks and cabins and hotels. Local members will be offering billets for those interested in a home away from home.

So start planning for a few days in Mt Isa now- perhaps do a road trip to see the outback and stay awhile. Travel with friends and make fabulous memories on the way. If flying keep an eye out for flight deals.

District News

District members are busy preparing for 16 days of Activism starting November 25th and ending December 10th. Many will be cooperating with other groups across their communities in marches and awareness raising campaigns. This includes UN Women whose Theme this year is UNITE to End Violence against Women . This year marks 25 years since the UN General Assembly designated November 25th International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, it is also an opportunity to see what has been achieved in the 30 years of the Beijing Declaration and Platform. Zonta representatives including from Australia will be travelling to Beijing 30+ soon.

We urge everyone to unit behind this campaign -Zonta SAYS NO/ ORANGE THE WORLD.
