Area 2 Meeting Hervey Bay

Zontians from Rockhampton, Maryborough, Bundaberg and Gladstone travelled to Hervey Bay on the weekend of 26th – 28th April to join Zontians in Hervey Bay and to take part in the Area 2 Meeting which was held at The Boat Club on the Marina. The members of the Longreach Club were unable to attend but we look forward to catching up with them at the Convention in September.

A weekend of friendship and fellowship was enjoyed, while renewing friendships was a highlight of the weekend. A varied program was presented covering different topics. A casual meet and greet dinner at the Ramada Resort on Friday evening commenced the activities of the weekend.

President Robyn Raynor welcomed all to the meeting and Deputy Mayor Darren Everard welcomed all to Hervey Bay while Area 2 Director Sandy Peters issued a welcome to Area 2 Zontians. District Governor Sandy Venn-Brown updated members on District 22 matters. Other presentations were delivered by D22 Treasurer Jill Lucht, PDG Judith Anderson, PDG Trish Collins, PDG Ans Van Erp, Lyn Agnew, Jan Landsberg and Berenice Payne. Guest Speaker Councillor Judy Peters of the Bundaberg Regional Council gave an interesting glimpse of her very busy life.

On Saturday evening, Zontians and guests enjoyed a relaxing dinner at the Boat Club. Sunday morning saw interesting and varied presentations by clubs during which Trish and Karen presented for our club. Lunch time saw the departure of members after a most enjoyable weekend.
