Zonta Charters Towers in conjunction with Keziah from STEM sisterhood are offering an opportunity for girls in Grades 5 & 6 to enjoy a day of STEM based activities.
It will be a fun day designing and building catapults to hit targets & exploring sport science – building a bionic hand

Lunch and morning tea are provided

Join us on Wednesday March 5th for our International Women’s Day (IWD) Brunch.

IWD 2025 campaign theme this year is ‘Accelerate Action’. Focusing on the need to Accelerate Action emphasizes the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality.

We have guest speaker Tracy Lech, recipient of the Mayor’s Community Spirit Award in the 2025 Australia Day Awards.

Tickets are $45 per person which includes brunch, juice, tea and coffee.

IWD 2025 Breakfast – Rockhampton @ Rockhampton Leagues Club

The Zonta Club of Rockhampton Inc will hold its annual IWD breakfast event at the ROCKHAMPTON LEAGUES CLUB on Friday 7 March to celebrate women’s achievements in the Central Queensland community and to raise awareness of our mission to “build a better world for women and girls”.

Our guest speaker, Angie Zahra – General Manager Central Generation at Stanwell Corporation, is a highly accomplished woman whose career
began as a Chemical Technician at Stanwell Power Station.

As an active community member in the Central Queensland region, Angie is committed to ensuring Stanwell continues to deliver secure, reliable energy for Queensland and mutual benefits for the community as Stanwell Power Station transforms to become a clean energy hub.  She is also passionate about supporting women to become key participants in the field of STEM.

The breakfast program will include the presentation of our Young Women in Leadership Award and Living Treasure Award.

Raffles will be conducted with the proceeds supporting the club’s educational awards and projects that support women in need in the community.

Our guest speaker Natalie Bennett is a dedicated Queensland police Detective with an impressive 37-year career spanning two states in Australia. Coming from a police family with 15 members serving in various states, she has a deep connection to law enforcement. Throughout her career, Natalie has travelled widely, meeting people from diverse backgrounds, & this has fostered her strong commitment to diversity & inclusivity both within the police force & in her community.

In addition to her law enforcement work, Natalie is a mother of 2 adult sons. She not only followed in her father’s footsteps into policing but also embraced his passion for photography. Using her camera, she connects with people, capturing special moments in their lives, as well as the beauty of sunrises & sunsets.

Natalie plans to reflect on her long career in policing and share insights about growing up in country NSW with 5 brothers. She credits her upbringing for shaping her into the person she is today.
