Flag Raising Ceremony – Toowoomba

A truly wonderfully inspiring Zonta’s Flag Raising Ceremony this morning in Toowoomba to commemorate the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Dec 10,1948) to make the end of Zonta Clubs participation in the universal “16 Days of Activism against gender violence” which begins on White Ribbon Day (Nov 25). We acknowledged the UNs Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities: Article 6, Women with Disabilities.

District 22 CONFERENCE 2023 -Update

The District 22 Conference 2023 is successfully concluded. From the warm welcome to Mackay by Mayor Williamson and Aunty Pat Corrie to the final business closure on Sunday 10 September, delegates and guests enjoyed the guest speakers, the several presentations by our education award winners, our Zonta International Representative Annika from Sweden and the Zonta spirit generated by many Zontians being and working together for the future of District 22. Congratulations to the newly elected Board Members and Nominating Committee, as well as to the many first-time Conference delegates who participated in the business sessions. Thanks also to the Zontians of Mackay who hosted the event and to the Organising Committee for their months of planning to deliver a happy and productive District Conference. The District Conference 2025 will be held in Mount Isa. In the meantime the 2024 Zonta International Convention in Brisbane will be the next major event to which we look forward.
