IWD 2022 Lunch – Toowoomba

Join us on Friday 4th March 11am-2pm to celebrate our signature, annual International Women’s Day with our theme this year – ‘dare to fail-where success begins’.

Keynote Speaker, Clare Stewart, Mayor of Noosa, is an inspiring and dynamic person who will speak to the topic ‘Dare to Fail.’ Some years ago Clare’s world was turned upside down when she was run over by a garbage truck and pinned under it until help arrived.

The event will raise essential funds for our local charity of choice, Eva’s Place which is a not-for-profit agency dedicated to supporting women who become pregnant unexpectedly. It is a safe environment offering practical, emotional, educational, and material support for females and their partners. Youngcare, Zonta educational scholarships, and global charities working to empower women and girls worldwide will also benefit from some of the funds raised.

We will also be presenting the tenth Zonta Woman of the Year Award, which acknowledges and pays tribute to a woman in the Toowoomba region who is making a significant contribution to support and enhance our community. Last year’s Award recipient was Emma Mactaggart, recognised for her energetic and tireless work to improve children’s literacy.
