Zonta Club of Bowen Inc.

                                    


The Zonta Club of Bowen Inc. services the rural communities of Bowen and Collinsville on the northern coast of Queensland.  The Club was chartered in 1994 and is a not for profit service organisation, committed to advancing the status of women both internationally and within the community through a number of projects. In addition to supporting the programs of Zonta International, we provide service to our local community through:

 

Advocacy 

  • Zonta Says No Campaign aims to bring awareness of the issues associated with domestic violence
  • Domestic Violence prevention Month of May Candle Lighting Ceremony
  • 16 Days of Activism – 25 November to 10 December
  • Fundraising and sponsorship towards the support of the Bowen Community Centre for the Emergency Crisis Housing Fund
  • Red Bench Project – Bowen Community Centre
  • Brochure – Safety tips for women and girls
  • Public amenities poster with Emergency Contact numbers

Education

  • Annual Tertiary Bursary Award
  • STEM Workshops for girls facilitated by Keziah Furnell of STEM Sisterhood
