Club Congratulates our Scholarship Winners
We were thrilled to have four of our scholarship winners attend our March meeting – our fifth was an apology due to her lecture timetable. Lily Crick from Balmoral State High School and Ashvini Rajendran from Yeronga State High School are our most recent winners and starting their university studies in 2015, They were joined by Nadia Querengasser a former Balmoral State High School student who is entering her second year in a Bachelor of Science and Diploma in Languages at the University of Queensland and Renee Cunningham a former student also from Balmoral State High School who this year will complete her studies in a Bachelor of Criminolgy/Criminal Justice Degree. All four students spoke of their studies and aspirations for the future and it was unanimously agreed all are very worthy recipients of our scholarship which supports them financially over a three year period.
We also enjoyed the company of the very proud mothers of Lily, Ashvini and Renee as well as Jessica Walker, Head of Special Education Services, Yeronga State High School. Unfortunately the Deputy Principal from Balmoral State High School, Gerowyn LaCaze, was a late apology due to family illness.
