Christmas Giving

Christmas is a time for giving and thinking of others and like so many Zonta Clubs we support a women’s refuge. Each year at Christmas we provide a Christmas Hamper for each of the 6 units, a gift for each woman at the refuge, a gift for the children to give to their mother and of course a gift for each child at the refuge over Christmas. All are now wrapped for delivery. We hope the women and the children enjoy their surprises. Many thanks also to Club member Loris who made and donated the beautiful bags which contain the “goodies” for the women.

District 22 CONFERENCE 2023 -Update

The District 22 Conference 2023 is successfully concluded. From the warm welcome to Mackay by Mayor Williamson and Aunty Pat Corrie to the final business closure on Sunday 10 September, delegates and guests enjoyed the guest speakers, the several presentations by our education award winners, our Zonta International Representative Annika from Sweden and the Zonta spirit generated by many Zontians being and working together for the future of District 22. Congratulations to the newly elected Board Members and Nominating Committee, as well as to the many first-time Conference delegates who participated in the business sessions. Thanks also to the Zontians of Mackay who hosted the event and to the Organising Committee for their months of planning to deliver a happy and productive District Conference. The District Conference 2025 will be held in Mount Isa. In the meantime the 2024 Zonta International Convention in Brisbane will be the next major event to which we look forward.
