Zonta YWPA Award presented to Katie Emmert

Katie’s tertiary studies commenced at CQUniversity Rockhampton in 2017, undertaking Bachelor of Occupational Therapy-Honours, completion 2020.

 Katie is an Australian Government Volunteer Vocational Education and Training Ambassador, where I promote, liaise, and educate students, schools, parents, employers on the benefits of up-skilling and formalizing training. Katie was recently awarded 2017 Runner-Up Australian Apprentice Trainee of the Year in Canberra.

Katie is also a volunteer 2018 Apprentice of the Year judge and apprentice mentor for the Queensland Government.

She is currently a volunteer with CQUniversity to assist with international study tours, where I communicate/homestay and tour the region with visiting students from diverse countries ensuring a positive educational outcome for each student.

In February 2018, Katie is to undertake the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Program (RYLA) sponsored by Rotary Club of West Rockhampton, which will assist her with fundamentals and ethics of leadership and volunteering whilst focusing on problem-solving, communication and community/global citizenship.
