Zonta Beaudesert supports It’s in the Bag appeal – 2018

The Zonta Club of Beaudesert is helping Share the Dignity make life a little better for women experiencing homelessness, domestic violence or poverty this Christmas.

The community organisation is seeking donations of feminine hygiene products and everyday luxuries to be given to women at risk.

Items such as tooth brushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, sanitary pads, tampons, deodorant and soap will be packed into handbags and distributed to those in need by Share the Dignity as part of the charity’s It’s in the Bag Christmas appeal

.

Zonta Club of Beaudesert member Michelle Turner said the group decided to support the campaign because it realised that women in crisis put the needs of others first, whatever the time of year.

“There are 85,000 homeless women who need your help this Christmas,” she said.

“Many have fled domestic violence or experienced extreme poverty.

“We want to make them feel special over Christmas, offer a bit of a feminine touch and let them know that whatever situation they’re in, we support them.

Zonta is seeking donations of tangible products, so it can fill as many handbags as possible.

Products can be dropped at 163 Enterprise Drive North in Beaudesert
