Special Afternoon Tea

Each year we invite pour Club scholarship winners to a meeting to hear more about the studies and plans for the future.  Because of COVID restrictions on numbers, this year we had a special afternoon tea for them to come and meet our members.  Four of our 6 scholarship recipient s attend along with a representative from Yeronga State High School.  Each told their story of their progress and the challenges of  2020 with on-line learning.  All have done exceptionally well and must be congratulated and for our two new scholarship holders commencing their tertiary studies their excitement about the journey they are about to embark on was infectious.

We also too the opportunity to invite Hannah and Summer from BDVS not only to launch our newly printed Safety Cards but also to talk about their project of visiting medical centres on the southside to speak with medical practitioners and staff about Domestic and Family Violence and provide them with resources to help them identify the signs and provide advice on the service available.  A really great project that is being well received by the medical centres and generated a number of questions from those present at the afternoon tea.

Many thanks to all attended and assisted in making he afternoon a success
