Our Club Scholarship Winners

It was again wonderful to have our Club scholarship winners from Balmoral and Yeronga State High Schools attend our February meeting along with Terry Heath, the Principal of Yeronga SHS and Vanessa Cash, Deputy Principal Balmoral SHS., It is always a great night as we renew our connection with each of them and hear of their studies and activities during the past year and we wish them all the very best for their studies and career.

Our other guest for the evening was Councillor Kara Cook the Councillor for Morningside Ward. Kara is a great supporter of our Club and gave us an update on activities in Council eg the draft consultation paper on D&FV currently out for consultation and information on other not for profits operating in our area particularly in the area of D&FV and which the Club may consider supporting as a service project for the coming year.

District 22 CONFERENCE 2023 -Update

The District 22 Conference 2023 is successfully concluded. From the warm welcome to Mackay by Mayor Williamson and Aunty Pat Corrie to the final business closure on Sunday 10 September, delegates and guests enjoyed the guest speakers, the several presentations by our education award winners, our Zonta International Representative Annika from Sweden and the Zonta spirit generated by many Zontians being and working together for the future of District 22. Congratulations to the newly elected Board Members and Nominating Committee, as well as to the many first-time Conference delegates who participated in the business sessions. Thanks also to the Zontians of Mackay who hosted the event and to the Organising Committee for their months of planning to deliver a happy and productive District Conference. The District Conference 2025 will be held in Mount Isa. In the meantime the 2024 Zonta International Convention in Brisbane will be the next major event to which we look forward.
