“Orange” Ladies Ready to Go to Work

Like a number of Clubs the Zonta Club of Brisbane East Inc has elected to use the concept of the “orange ladies” to promote awareness of violence against women during the 16 Days of Activism commencing on 25 November 2015 and ending on 10 December 2015. Our “ladies” will carry information on violence against women as well as safety information for victims of domestic violence. The aim is to create a visual image to raise awareness on violence against women to the public.

Our ladies will be located in businesses in Oxford Street, Bulimba and other locations in the City and southern suburbs. Regular information will also be posted on our Facebook page so remember to check that out.

We are honoured to have Dame Quentin Bryce AD CVO launch our campaign on 25 November.

District 22 CONFERENCE 2023 -Update

The District 22 Conference 2023 is successfully concluded. From the warm welcome to Mackay by Mayor Williamson and Aunty Pat Corrie to the final business closure on Sunday 10 September, delegates and guests enjoyed the guest speakers, the several presentations by our education award winners, our Zonta International Representative Annika from Sweden and the Zonta spirit generated by many Zontians being and working together for the future of District 22. Congratulations to the newly elected Board Members and Nominating Committee, as well as to the many first-time Conference delegates who participated in the business sessions. Thanks also to the Zontians of Mackay who hosted the event and to the Organising Committee for their months of planning to deliver a happy and productive District Conference. The District Conference 2025 will be held in Mount Isa. In the meantime the 2024 Zonta International Convention in Brisbane will be the next major event to which we look forward.
