New Members welcomed to Rockhampton Club

Members of the Rockhampton Club welcomed new members Ellen Smith, Shane Latcham and Jorja Rapkins at the club meeting on Thursday evening, with all being inducted by President Trish Collins.

The meeting was held in the Champions Room at the Frenchville Sports Club. Shane and Ellen are both councillors with the Rockhampton Regional Council and we look forward to the valuable input which they will contribute to our club. Jorja Rapkins attended the meeting via Zoom and was also inducted as a member of the club. She brings her bright and bubbly personality and her willingness to participate to the club, which we all welcome.

District 22 CONFERENCE 2023 -Update

The District 22 Conference 2023 is successfully concluded. From the warm welcome to Mackay by Mayor Williamson and Aunty Pat Corrie to the final business closure on Sunday 10 September, delegates and guests enjoyed the guest speakers, the several presentations by our education award winners, our Zonta International Representative Annika from Sweden and the Zonta spirit generated by many Zontians being and working together for the future of District 22. Congratulations to the newly elected Board Members and Nominating Committee, as well as to the many first-time Conference delegates who participated in the business sessions. Thanks also to the Zontians of Mackay who hosted the event and to the Organising Committee for their months of planning to deliver a happy and productive District Conference. The District Conference 2025 will be held in Mount Isa. In the meantime the 2024 Zonta International Convention in Brisbane will be the next major event to which we look forward.
