May Changeover meeting

Our May meeting was busy with new board member Helen Miller being inducted onto the board. Also Noela Lord was presented with a certificate for 20 years of loyal service to our Club by past district President Ans van Erp. There was much lively discussion regarding the forth coming “Cooking for a Cause” event being held next year which will be the Zonta Club of Toowoomba’s main fund raising event. One our charter members Fay Hertle presented an informative talk of the history and evolution of our Club which was formed in 1977 and chartered in 1978. Fay our archivist is handing over the archival reins to Kate Charlton. Fay was presented with flowers and our Zonta Club glasses in appreciation of the wonderful work she has done for our club over many years.

District 22 CONFERENCE 2023 -Update

The District 22 Conference 2023 is successfully concluded. From the warm welcome to Mackay by Mayor Williamson and Aunty Pat Corrie to the final business closure on Sunday 10 September, delegates and guests enjoyed the guest speakers, the several presentations by our education award winners, our Zonta International Representative Annika from Sweden and the Zonta spirit generated by many Zontians being and working together for the future of District 22. Congratulations to the newly elected Board Members and Nominating Committee, as well as to the many first-time Conference delegates who participated in the business sessions. Thanks also to the Zontians of Mackay who hosted the event and to the Organising Committee for their months of planning to deliver a happy and productive District Conference. The District Conference 2025 will be held in Mount Isa. In the meantime the 2024 Zonta International Convention in Brisbane will be the next major event to which we look forward.
