International Womens Day Brunch an outstanding success

Palmwoods Hotel hosted our annual Brunch attended by 90 women. The morning began with a traditional welcome to country. Then members of Kitchen Carnivale spoke about their new cooking school and shared their love of their cultures and something of the migrant experience.

Your guest speaker Trudy Cooper spoke about her journey to discover her indigenous roots, a fascinating personal and personal insight for all present. A great morning of fellowship was enjoyed by all. An excellent raffle raised funds which will go towards Birthing Kit production later this year.

District 22 CONFERENCE 2023 -Update

The District 22 Conference 2023 is successfully concluded. From the warm welcome to Mackay by Mayor Williamson and Aunty Pat Corrie to the final business closure on Sunday 10 September, delegates and guests enjoyed the guest speakers, the several presentations by our education award winners, our Zonta International Representative Annika from Sweden and the Zonta spirit generated by many Zontians being and working together for the future of District 22. Congratulations to the newly elected Board Members and Nominating Committee, as well as to the many first-time Conference delegates who participated in the business sessions. Thanks also to the Zontians of Mackay who hosted the event and to the Organising Committee for their months of planning to deliver a happy and productive District Conference. The District Conference 2025 will be held in Mount Isa. In the meantime the 2024 Zonta International Convention in Brisbane will be the next major event to which we look forward.
