Fellowship Tour & Afternoon Tea

Fellowship is a very important part of Zonta membership and we aim to have a number of activities throughout the year just to have fun and enjoy each other’s company. Our latest was a visit and tour of Miegunyah House in Newstead followed by a delicious devonshire tea on the veranda. Club Charter Member a volunteer at Miegunyah took us on the tour of this the beautiful property and impressed us all with her detailed knowledge of its history and the house historical collections held there.

This was followed by a beautiful devonshire tea on the veranda – warm freshly baked scones, jam and cream plus of course tea/coffee all served using delicate china.

District 22 CONFERENCE 2023 -Update

The District 22 Conference 2023 is successfully concluded. From the warm welcome to Mackay by Mayor Williamson and Aunty Pat Corrie to the final business closure on Sunday 10 September, delegates and guests enjoyed the guest speakers, the several presentations by our education award winners, our Zonta International Representative Annika from Sweden and the Zonta spirit generated by many Zontians being and working together for the future of District 22. Congratulations to the newly elected Board Members and Nominating Committee, as well as to the many first-time Conference delegates who participated in the business sessions. Thanks also to the Zontians of Mackay who hosted the event and to the Organising Committee for their months of planning to deliver a happy and productive District Conference. The District Conference 2025 will be held in Mount Isa. In the meantime the 2024 Zonta International Convention in Brisbane will be the next major event to which we look forward.
