Club Receives Zonta International Centennial Grant

Club members were thrilled to receive advice that their application for a $US5000 Zonta International Centennial Grant was successful. The Club will partner with NAPCAN to conduct training for facilitators in the very successful and well recognised LoveBites program . LoveBites is a very powerful program run in many Queensland school emphasizing Respectful Relationships.

Our application was one of 62 grants worldwide to be successful with 3 other Clubs in District 22 also receiving grants – Brisbane City Heart, Brisbane Metro Breakfast and Ipswich.

District 22 CONFERENCE 2023 -Update

The District 22 Conference 2023 is successfully concluded. From the warm welcome to Mackay by Mayor Williamson and Aunty Pat Corrie to the final business closure on Sunday 10 September, delegates and guests enjoyed the guest speakers, the several presentations by our education award winners, our Zonta International Representative Annika from Sweden and the Zonta spirit generated by many Zontians being and working together for the future of District 22. Congratulations to the newly elected Board Members and Nominating Committee, as well as to the many first-time Conference delegates who participated in the business sessions. Thanks also to the Zontians of Mackay who hosted the event and to the Organising Committee for their months of planning to deliver a happy and productive District Conference. The District Conference 2025 will be held in Mount Isa. In the meantime the 2024 Zonta International Convention in Brisbane will be the next major event to which we look forward.
