Christmas Cheer

As we have done now for many years we made and delivered Christmas Hampers and gifts to the families staying in a refuge but this year we also provided gifts and household items to young women staying in the Units operated by ZIgZag Young Women’s Resource Centre. Yesterday it was time to deliver our goodies. Six washing baskets full of Christmas goodies and sacks full of presents for both the women and children. Many thanks to Club member Loris for the beautiful handmade bags in which we placed the gifts for the mothers and to Christine from CEA for her contribution of the sacks (reuseable shopping bags) for the gifts and many many household items.

District 22 CONFERENCE 2023 -Update

The District 22 Conference 2023 is successfully concluded. From the warm welcome to Mackay by Mayor Williamson and Aunty Pat Corrie to the final business closure on Sunday 10 September, delegates and guests enjoyed the guest speakers, the several presentations by our education award winners, our Zonta International Representative Annika from Sweden and the Zonta spirit generated by many Zontians being and working together for the future of District 22. Congratulations to the newly elected Board Members and Nominating Committee, as well as to the many first-time Conference delegates who participated in the business sessions. Thanks also to the Zontians of Mackay who hosted the event and to the Organising Committee for their months of planning to deliver a happy and productive District Conference. The District Conference 2025 will be held in Mount Isa. In the meantime the 2024 Zonta International Convention in Brisbane will be the next major event to which we look forward.
