Busy March Dinner Meeting

The Club had a very busy March Dinner Meeting with many guests present including our Scholarship winners from Balmoral State High School and Yeronga State High School.  The girls were presented with their cheques and certificates and we heard of their current studies and plans for the future – always great to have these girls  attend a meeting.  We also had the Principal and Deputy Principal from Balmoral State High School at the meeting and they told us the great results students from that school are achieving.  The Head of Special Education Services at Yeronga State High School, another guest,  spoke on some of the particular problems and pressures so many of the students at that school are having because of Government changes to visa requirements.

We also welcomed a prospective new member to the Club as well as a previous member of our Club who had to resign a number of years ago because of work pressures.  We are hopeful that both will join us as members.

On top of all that it was time to determine our service projects for this year. Great proposals put forward by our Club members and decisions taken regarding our support.  More information on these in later posts as we invite representatives from each of the organisations to attend a meeting to receive their cheques and tell us more about their organisation.
