A Generous Gift

The Club recently received a number of items as a donation from Bayside Craft – a Work for the Dole Program based at Cleveland. The donation consists of beautifully embroidered face washer/hand towel packs, coffee tables, reusable bags and shopping bags. These were all made by participants in the program and have been given to us specifically for distribution to the refuges we support and the DV support groups the Club assists. This is the second such donation as the Club also received a number of items just prior to Christmas which we gladly distributed with our Christmas gifts to Zig Zag Young Women’s Resource Centre and Madonna House. District 22 CONFERENCE 2023 -Update

The District 22 Conference 2023 is successfully concluded. From the warm welcome to Mackay by Mayor Williamson and Aunty Pat Corrie to the final business closure on Sunday 10 September, delegates and guests enjoyed the guest speakers, the several presentations by our education award winners, our Zonta International Representative Annika from Sweden and the Zonta spirit generated by many Zontians being and working together for the future of District 22. Congratulations to the newly elected Board Members and Nominating Committee, as well as to the many first-time Conference delegates who participated in the business sessions. Thanks also to the Zontians of Mackay who hosted the event and to the Organising Committee for their months of planning to deliver a happy and productive District Conference. The District Conference 2025 will be held in Mount Isa. In the meantime the 2024 Zonta International Convention in Brisbane will be the next major event to which we look forward.
