Successful High Tea Fundraiser
Zontians host successful High Tea at School Trade Training Centre.
Members of the Zonta Club of Rockhampton joined with staff and students of the North Rockhampton State High School Hospitality Trade Training Centre, to host a very successful fundraiser for the Club. The Centre is equipped for training and teaching purposes to cater for all the needs of students entering the hospitality industry. Eighty ladies attended the function and enjoyed the superb food which was prepared to professional standard by the students. President Meredith Sutherland welcomed the guests and member Trish Collins ably emceed the function.
While good food and good company was the order of the day, the ladies enjoyed a musical interlude at the commencement of the afternoon’s entertainment which was presented by a small Chamber Group from the school’s large instrumental orchestra. A fashion parade of the latest fashions from Rockmans, W Lane, beme and Table Eight of the Megastore in City Centre Plaza, created much interest.
The highlight of the afternoon was indeed the delectable food which was presented in three buffet servings. The freshly made dainty sandwiches were followed by savoury taste sensations and finally, by beautifully decorated and presented sweets of small cakes, dainty tarts, slices, macarons and scrumptious scones. The presentation of the food was a delight to the eye and delicious to eat. Tea and coffee accompanied the eats.
A multi drawer raffle was a feature of the afternoon and the Lucky Door prize was donated by Skin Deep Rejuvenation Clinic in Denham Street.
Thank you to all the committee, led by Valda, for organizing a great event.
